Good evening, everyone! We have several important updates regarding testing schedules, student support programs, and upcoming parent workshops. Here’s what you need to know.
State and College Board Testing Updates
The New Jersey Department of Education has announced a postponed testing schedule that includes NJSLA, Access 2.0, and DLM assessments. Testing will now begin no earlier than April 5th, with training for district test coordinators moved to March (previously scheduled for February 22nd). More updates will follow as the department releases additional guidance.
In addition, the College Board has introduced a flexible 2021 AP Exam schedule to accommodate schools' varying operational statuses—whether in-person, hybrid, or remote. Schools have the option to select from three different administration windows or mix and match dates to best fit their needs:
Window 1: May 3–7, May 10–12, May 14, May 17
Window 2: May 18–21, May 24–28
Window 3: June 1–4, June 7–11
This approach provides schools the flexibility to align testing with instructional schedules and safety protocols while ensuring students have opportunities to take their exams.
Tiger WRAP & Student Wellness Initiatives
We’re happy to report that Tiger WRAP continues its partnership with our high school guidance department, offering essential student programs. So far, high school students have participated in conflict resolution, harassment and bullying awareness, and substance abuse education.
This February, Tiger WRAP staff and Ms. Lynn Tucci will lead discussions on healthy relationships, with additional presentations featuring Prevention is Key, a Morris County-based non-profit specializing in substance abuse prevention and advocacy. These sessions will focus on The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens, equipping students with skills for making positive life choices.
Parent Workshops: Connecting & Communicating
Recognizing the challenges of distance learning, Inspired Instruction will host a three-part virtual workshop seriesfor parents of students in grades 7–12. The sessions will focus on building stronger communication and connectionswith children during remote education.
Workshop Dates:
February 18th
February 25th
March 4th
Great news! Our presenter is bilingual, ensuring all parents can participate without language barriers.
Stay Engaged!
We appreciate everyone’s participation and engagement in these important programs. If you have any questions or need further information, feel free to reach out. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for your continued support!
